Consulting Project at Urban Mapping

23 Oct

Urban Mapping, a fast-growing startup in San Francisco, is looking for an individual or a small team of second year MBA students to work on a consulting project. In this role, you will work with management to scope, research, present and document. This is a unique opportunity to apply strategic thinking to a real-world challenge. Details of the project will be influenced by the consultant team, but research will focus around location-based services and geo-aware applications. During the course of the spring semester, you will conduct primary and secondary research, analyze and present your findings. In addition to an end-of-semester presentation, there will be mid-semester deliverables.

Urban Mapping’s founder attended the Babson College MBA program and participated in such a program during his second year; the learnings and outcomes were valuable and he wishes to involve students in a similar program. If you have an interest in applying real-world learnings, entrepreneurship, juggling competing priorities and navigating a sea of ambiguity, this could be something special for you. Ideally a small team (3-5) of MBA candidates would express interest, but individuals are also welcome.

MBA candidates seeking experiential-based learning and a semester-long internship are also welcome. In addition to serving as a valuable learning experience, this would also serve as a fast track to post MBA career opportunities. To be considered for this opportunity, please forward a resume and brief note of interest to Lindsay Hong. Project start date is January and it will conclude before exams in May.
